Dog Control Bylaw
The Dog Regulation and Impounding Bylaw No. 3032, as amended, is utilized to regulate dogs in all electoral areas in the CVRD. Dog control is currently contracted out to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and they can be reached at:

All complaints or concerns regarding wandering, vicious or barking dogs, etc. should be directed to the SPCA. The Bylaw Enforcement Officer may become involved with dog control investigations in cases of non-compliance following efforts made by the animal control officer (SPCA).

Dog Licensing
Residents within the Electoral Areas of the CVRD are required to have all dogs, four months and older, or within 7 days of purchase of a dog, licensed by January 31 of each year. For more information on dog licensing, including fees and dog license vendors, please visit our dog licencing page.
