Park History
The lot was leased to the CVRD in 1974, from the Ministry of Lands, Forest, and Water Resources, for a 20-year period. In 1985, a Canada Works Grant enabled the access and parking lot to be developed along with a network of nature trails. Children from North Oyster Elementary School assisted in naming the trails. As you walk along the trails you will see some of the original signs. The lease was renewed in 1995 for another 20 years.
