The following criteria must be met for any event to be considered for posting on our Tourism Events calendar. While this criteria represents our general standard, Tourism Cowichan maintains discretion and reserves the right to approve or reject any requested posting for any reason.

What kinds of events are suggested for submission?
• Festivals & community events
• Concerts
• Theatre
• Art exhibits
• Heritage events
• Public open houses (not including real estate, etc.)
• Bazaars
• Special shows (i.e. car shows, antique shows, etc.)
• Parades
• Sporting tournaments (that draw widespread public attendance)
• Dances (not including burlesque shows, etc.)

What kind of events will be considered for submission?
• Open for public attendance
• Must be held within Cowichan Region
• Must be accessible for visitors to Cowichan (i.e. tourists)

What kinds of events will not be considered for submission?
• Personal events (i.e. weddings, etc.)
• Political events & fundraisers
• Exclusive membership events (i.e. club meetings, etc.)
• Individual business promotional events & meetings (that are not related
to a festival)
• Any ongoing local programs (i.e. religious services, educational programs,
game schedules & recreational programs)
• Any events that are not available for one-time visitors to Cowichan
• Any events that promote hatred or intolerance toward others, or promote
a belief that could be harmful to the welfare of the community
