Voting in the Cowichan Valley Regional District
Where Do I Vote?

Voting place locations will be advertised in local newspapers and posted here on this web page, once an election or other voting opportunity has been declared by the Chief Election Officer. 


If you are unsure as to which electoral area you live or own property in, please refer to the CVRD's web base interactive mapping tool. Simply drop down the locate menu, select "Street Address", enter your street number and name and click "search".  The electoral area for the subject propety is identifed by the letter next to "Jurisdiction" within the report.

Can I Vote Before General Voting Day? 

 

If you are unable to vote on General Voting Day, you may vote in advance. Advance voting opportunities for the local government elections, and other voting, are held on 4th and 10th day before general voting day. Advance voting opportunities and locations are posted on this website  for each election and/or referendum.  Notices regarding voting opportunites, and other voter approval processes, may be viewed by clicking here.  

 

Can I Vote By Mail?

 

You may be eligible to register and vote by mail if you have a physical disability, illness or injury that prevents you from attending a voting place at any of the voting opportunities.  You may also be eligible if you reside in a specific and remote area of the Regional District or if you expect to be absent on general voting day and all advance voting days.  For more detailed information about mail voting procedures, contact the Legislative Services Division at 250-746-2503 or 1-800-665-3955 or by e-mail at: mail voting info.
