Kerry Park Soccer - 2013/14 Season
This soccer league is designed for children aged 5 - 10 years (Under 6 - Under 11). Teams will play small-sided games to give the players more space and touches on the ball. Coaches will encourage fair play and equal time for everyone, with the focus on skill development, team play, and fun.

Practices and Games Games will be played Saturdays between 9:30 am and 2:15 pm at the Kerry Park Sports Fields. U7 - U11 teams will practice once a week, with the night/time to be determined by the coach. U6 teams will not have a weekday practice. Practices will be held at the Kerry Park fields in September, October, and March and will be held in South End school gymnasiums during November and February.

Schedules for each age group will be posted in early September once teams are made.

First Game
Please arrive 20 minutes early to your first game (Sept 14) to drop off your $25 soccer jersey deposit and pick up your jersey. Cheques are preferred (made payable to Kerry Park Recreation) but credit cards and cash are also accepted. All players will receive black soccer socks. Players are expected to return their jerseys at the end of each session. Please make sure your player has their own shinguards (mandatory), soccer boots (highly recommended), and shorts.

Soccer Cancellation Procedure
Before heading to the fields every Saturday, please visit our Field Status Webpage. Kerry Park Maintenance will decide if the fields are OPEN or CLOSED, depending on the weather and field saturation levels. If the fields are marked OPEN, all soccer will run as scheduled. If the fields are marked CLOSED, all soccer will be cancelled for the day. The page will be updated every Saturday morning by 8:30 am.  

Player Requests & Team Formation
While we do our best to accomodate player requests, nothing is guaranteed. The top priority at the start of each session is to create balanced teams at each age group. Requests that prevent this balance from being achieved will not be accomodated. Also, while teams usually stay fairly consistent from fall to spring, sometimes players need to be moved around in an effort to rebalance the teams. We appreciate your understanding with this.

Darcy Kulai is our league coordinator and Brian Johnston is our technical advisor, with several skilled parents volunteering as coaches.
