About Parks and Trails in the Cowichan Valley
Welcome
The CVRD is characterized by a variety of natural and rural landscapes that are open to exploration. These landscapes range from open farmlands and extensive ocean coastlines within the southern region, to the cool mystic valleys of the Koksilah, Cowichan and Chemainus Rivers. The parks and trails of the Cowichan Valley region offer something for everyone to appreciate.
The Parks & Trails Division manages over 200 Community Parks, eight Regional Parks, two Regional Trails, as well as Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreation Area. There are approximately 1,200 hectares of Community Parks and 823 hectares of Regional Parkland plus the Cowichan Valley Trail. Important Notices
Coverdale Watson Park Washroom Renovation
The washroom building at Coverdale Watson Park is closed temporarily through early summer 2024 due to building renovations and upgrades.
Thetis Island Wharf and Community Dock
The Wharf and Community Dock at Thetis Island Wharf will be closed to the public starting March 12th for approximately 4 - 6 weeks for repairs.
