The Cowichan sports scene is extra-large, just like the world’s biggest hockey stick and puck that adorn Duncan's arena. Beyond that traffic-stopping symbol, Cowichan has a starring line-up of more than 50 facilities for a broad range of sports, backed by a big-league team of organizers and a devoted fan base.
Cowichan has been lauded as one of Canada’s top places to visit, and Duncan picked as one of the 22 ‘must see’ hockey towns in North America. We have a proud track record of successfully hosting major events, including the 2008 North American Indigenous Games – recognized as the most successful NAIG games ever held.
Our mild, sports-friendly climate makes Cowichan ideal for year-round competition indoors and out.
