Borrow books from your local library or a friend. Check out used book stores to cut down on the amount of paper used to produce books.
Local libraries are sometimes interested in donations of books less than five years old and in good condition. Used bookstores and thrift stores will also often accept books. Keep your eye out for opportunities to donate books to groups who are holding book sales as fundraisers.
Only telephone books and directories may go in your curbside collection recycling tote. Hard cover and soft cover books do not belong in curbside recycling totes.
