Sharing power tools with neighbours, or renting tools are great options, especially if you use them infrequently. If you must purchase new items, buy durable ones that will last. Look for energy efficient tools or better yet, manually operated tools.
Repair tools whenever possible instead of purchasing new ones. Give your old power tools to a friend or family member. Advertise them on Craigslist of Used Cowichan.
