Want to go green?
Re-think your purchases. If you don't really need the item, or it is a single use product, consider leaving it on the shelf. Thinking about what you're buying could reduce the amount of waste your household produces, and could save you money.
Before throwing materials out, ask yourself if it can be reused in a craft or project. Jars and small containers are great for storage or holding pens. If your product is still in good working condition, take it to a second-hand store for someone else to use, or consider having a garage sale.
Can your "garbage" be recycled? Millions of items are thrown out each year that either could be fully or partially recycled. See if your material can be disassembled to allow for parts of it to be diverted.
