Please note that as we approach General Voting Day, Canada Post delivery of a mail ballot package cannot be guaranteed for applications. Should you wish to pick up your mail ballot package, please complete the form and call 250.746.2574 directly to request pick-up. Packages will continue to be available until Thursday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m.

All eligible electors within the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD), may choose to vote by mail in the 2022 General Local Elections and Regional Assent Voting, with the following exceptions. Eligible electors of the City of Duncan may vote by mail for the Regional Assent Voting (Referendum) only. Eligible electors within a portion of Area G may vote by mail for Thetis Island Local Trust Area Trustee. In-person polls will also be available. Please refer to the List of Regional Voting Places  that includes dates and times for voting opportunities within the whole of the CVRD that are applicable to your Electoral Area or Municipality within the CVRD's boundary.

It is the responsibility of the person applying to vote by mail ballot to ensure that the mail ballot is received by the Chief Election Officer by 8:00 p.m. on October 15. Canada Post cannot currently guarantee delivery timeframes, so please allow extra time if returning a ballot by mail. How do I return my mail ballot envelope?

There are several options for returning mail ballot envelopes:

  • Canada Post;
  • Courier; 
  • Drop off at the CVRD main office located at 175 Ingram, Duncan BC, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding statutory holiday; and
  • Drop off at the CVRD main office in the after-hours drop box outside the front door. 

All completed mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer by Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
