Mail Ballot Voting

Voting by mail is permitted for Eligible Electors within the electoral areas of the Cowichan Valley Regional District for Electoral Area Director, School District Trustees, Islands Trust Local Trust Area Trustees, and Referenda. In addition, mail ballot voting is available for Eligible Electors of the City of Duncan, Municipality of North Cowichan, or Town of Lake Cowichan for assent voting only, who: (The Town of Ladysmith is conducting its own mail ballot voting including regional assent voting [referenda])

  • would be unable to attend a voting place due to physical disability, illness or injury that effects their ability to vote at a Voting Place; or
  • reside west of the E&N Land Grant located west of Cowichan Lake in Electoral Area F - Cowichan Lake South/Skutz Falls; OR on an island located within Electoral Area G - Saltair Gulf Islands; or
  • expect to be absent from the Cowichan Valley Regional District on general voting day and at the times of all advance voting opportunities; 

may vote by mail.

Applications for mail ballots may also be arranged by contacting the CVRD Legislative Services Division at 250.746.2505 or by email at pturney@cvrd.bc.ca pturney@cvrd.bc.ca on regular business days between 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 and 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018.
