Cowichan Bay Design Charrette

On April 3, 4, & 5, 2018, the CVRD hosted the Cowichan Bay Design Charrette at the Oceanfront Suites in Cowichan Bay.

What is a design charrette?

A charrette is an intensive planning session where community members, designers and others collaborate on design solutions for a key neighbourhood or area such as Cowichan Bay Village.

Why a design charrette?

Cowichan Bay Village is an iconic part of the Cowichan Valley.  As a vibrant commercial and social hub that draws visitors and customers in large numbers, the Village has challenges with vehicle parking and “walkability” among other things.  The CVRD is seeking to coordinate and focus public realm improvement projects, in Cowichan Bay Village.
