A charrette is an intensive planning session where community members, designers and others collaborate on design solutions for a key neighbourhood or area such as Shawnigan Lake Village.
Why a design charrette?
Shawnigan Lake Village is an iconic part of the Cowichan Valley. As a vibrant commercial, recreational, and social hub that draws visitors and customers in large numbers, the Village has challenges with “walkability,” lake access, infrastructure, and other things. The CVRD is seeking to coordinate and focus public realm improvement projects in Shawnigan Lake Village.
