[ARCHIVED] Woodley Range Water Quality - Odour

The sulphur smell is due to lowering water levels in the wells and sulphur bacteria becoming more prevalent.  The wells have been shocked with chlorine in an effort to reduce the level of sulphur bacteria and well #67 has been taken offline as this is the well with the higher sulphur smell.   We are hoping that with the higher chlorine levels the water quality will improve.   The water is sampled on a weekly basis and although it does have a strong odour it is safe for consuming.

A brita type filter (charcoal) may help to reduce the odour.
