Construction of the new disposal fields at Galliers Road has started and is expected to continue until the end of March 2020. The new fields will have a greater capacity for disposal of treated effluent, therefore some tree clearing will be necessary to permit construction of the new field. Final restoration will include landscaping the field with native grasses and may be supplemented with native flowering plants.

The construction of the disposal field will be the third phase of the Cobble Hill Sewer Integration Project that includes upgrades at both the Hutchinson Road treatment facility and the Galliers Road site including the addition of odour control at both sites.

Expansion of the effluent reuse program for irrigation in Community Parks and possible expansion of the collection are also part of the Sewer Integration Project. Final completion of the project is December 31, 2020.
