Property Tax Statements Mailed for Unpaid Utility Fees

Property Tax Statements Mailed for Unpaid Utility Fees

Under the Local Government Act the CVRD is required at December 31 to transfer to taxes any outstanding balances on Utility accounts to the Province. This includes our water, sewer and curbside collection services.

The Province of BC, through the Surveyor of Taxes, bills these outstanding amounts (Notice of Account Change) to taxpayers and the 2018 bills have been mailed. The payments may be made on-line to the Province, through a Financial Institution or at a local Service BC Centre. Daily interest is charged from January 1, 2018 until the payment is made.

The CVRD is unable to accept these payments after December 31 when the outstanding balances have been transferred to the Province of BC. Please note that the Province of BC will send a statement at the end of each month, should the outstanding balance continue to be unpaid.
