Youth Soccer League

MS Kick Blues
This soccer league is designed for children aged 5 - 10 years (Under 6 - 11). Teams will play small-sided games to give the players more space and touches on the ball. Coaches will encourage fair play and equal time for everyone, with the focus on skill development, team play, and fun.

Soccer registration forms can be found HERE. Every player must complete a registration form before they can start playing. Please print and fill out, and either scan and email back to Kerry Park, drop off at our office, or fax to 250.743.7939.

Refund Policy

Withdrawals must take place a minimum of one week prior to the season start date in order to receive a refund. If a withdrawal request is received after the season start date, a prorated refund will be given only up until October 14. No refunds will be given after October 14, unless we are able to fill your space with a waitlisted participant. All withdrawals are subject to a $5 administration fee.

Please note that weather conditions for winter soccer can be unpredictable. Cancellations may occur due to conditions such as frozen playing surfaces, standing water, and other field conditions that may increase the risk of injury to players or cause undue damage to fields. No refunds will be given for cancellations due to weather.

Practices and Games

Games will be played on Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Kerry Park Sports Fields. Start times for each age group are listed on our Schedules Page. U7 - U11 teams will practice once a week, with the day/time to be determined by the coaches. U6 teams will not have a weekday practice. The Kerry Park Sports Fields will be used for practices during the fall; while south end school gymnasiums will be used during the winter. Practices will generally be for one hour on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Jerseys

Each player will receive a jersey and pair of soccer socks at the start of the season.

If any jerseys are not returned in reusable condition at the end of the season, a $25 charge will be placed on the family's account. The socks are yours to keep. On the first day all teams will have a meet and greet with their coaches, a good warm-up/practice, and a scrimmage at the end.

Soccer Gear and Cold Weather

Please make sure your child has his/her own shin guards (mandatory), soccer boots (highly recommended), and shorts. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather. On cold days long-sleeved under shirts, gloves, and toques are all good ideas. Players are not permitted to wear jewelry for games or practices.

Soccer Cancellation Procedure

Before heading to the fields every Saturday, please visit our Field Status Webpage. Kerry Park Maintenance will decide if the fields are OPEN or CLOSED, depending on the weather and field saturation levels. If the fields are marked OPEN, all soccer will run as scheduled. If the fields are marked CLOSED, all soccer will be cancelled for the day. The page will be updated every Saturday morning by 8:30 a.m.

Please note that you may receive an email indicating that the field is closed; however your most trustworthy source of information is the webpage as emails can be delayed.

Player Requests & Team Formation

While we do our best to accommodate player requests, we are unable to guarantee that each request is granted. The top priority at the start of each season is to create balanced teams for each age group. Requests that prevent this from being achieved will not be accommodated.
