The CVRD is responsible for long-term planning and management of waste generated by residents and businesses within the region. Services include waste disposal, operation of CVRD Recycling Centres and depots, and curbside recycling in all nine Electoral Areas.
Curbside Recycling Contamination
Contamination in curbside recycling collection can result in entire loads of recyclables having to be landfilled making recycling expense for us all. Watch the video below and learn what shouldn't go in curbside recycling.
Solid Waste Management Plan Amendment
The CVRD is updating the Solid Waste Management Plan. The Plan contains important information on waste disposal and reduction, and provides a long-term vision for managing waste in our region. The Plan was last updated in 2006, and is due for amendment to ensure that it continues to reflect regional solid waste management goals and objectives.
Attend an open house to provide input to the regional vision for waste management, learn about proposed waste management strategies, and comment on waste reduction targets and goals.
